Adverbial clauses have the same functions
as adverbs and express a range of adverbial
meanings, such as time, manner, cause,
purpose, result, condition and concession.
They are introduced by subordinating
conjunctions or phrases according to their
meaning.

(Temporal clauses)
Temporal clauses denote an action
which either occured previously to,
simultaneously with, or after the action
of the main clause. They can precede or
follow the main clause, depending on the
emphasis the speaker wants to give.
Temporal clauses are usually introduced
by either a simple conjunction (όταν, πριν,
καθώς…) or a temporal phrase (τώρα που,
(από) τότε που, την ώρα που…)
