(Position and order of adjectives)
In Greek the adjective is normally placed
before the noun. However, it can also follow
the noun, usually when there is an indefinite
article. When the noun is preceded by
the definite article, the post-positioned
adjective requires a definite article as well.
More than one adjective may modify a
noun. The order of these adjectives is
usually interchangeable.
Η όμορφη νέα κοπέλα
Η νέα όμορφη κοπέλα
The traditionally called “past participle”
(μετοχή μεσοπαθητικού παρακειμένου),
that comes from the passive perfective
stem of the verb, also behaves like an
adjective (see past participle).
Η Αγκάθα αγόρασε ένα γαλάζιο φόρεμα
Η Αγκάθα αγόρασε ένα φόρεμα γαλάζιο
Η Αγκάθα αγόρασε το γαλάζιο φόρεμα
